A video collage plays several clips at once on one screen. It is one of the best ways to share a whole trip, party, or day in a few seconds. It also stands out in a feed full of single photos.

Here is how to make one on iPhone.

What you need

  • A few short video clips. Photos work too.
  • A video collage app. We use CollageFlow in this guide.
  • About five minutes.

Step by step

  1. Open CollageFlow and start a new collage.
  2. Tap Ratio to choose a size first. Use 9:16 for reels, stories, and TikTok. Use 4:5 for a feed post.
  3. Pick a layout. A grid of 2 to 4 slots works best for video. Each clip needs room to be seen.
  4. Tap a slot and choose a video. Repeat for each slot. You can mix videos and photos.
  5. Add a title. Tap Text, type your title, and pick a font. Turn on animation so it moves in.
  6. Add music. Open the Music panel and choose a track.
  7. Tap Save. CollageFlow saves one video to your Photos, ready to post.

Tips for a better video collage

Keep clips short

Trim every clip to the best 3 to 6 seconds. Long clips feel slow when several play at once.

Mix motion and stillness

If every slot is busy, it is hard to watch. Try one moving clip with calmer clips or photos around it.

Match the mood

Use clips with similar lighting and colors. A filter across all of them helps them feel like one piece.

Think about sound

Most people watch with sound off at first. Your title should explain the video on its own. Music is the bonus.

Other ways to do it

iMovie is free from Apple. It can put two clips side by side with split screen, or one clip over another with picture in picture. It cannot make a grid of three or more clips.

Canva and Unfold both have templates that accept video. They are good choices if you already use them. See our comparison of the best collage apps for iPhone.
